Potential factors influencing the rhetorical patterns of research article discussion sections

The present study reports potential factors influencing the rhetorical patterns of research articles (RA) discussion sections. was conducted by utilizing descriptive qualitative research. researcher purposefully focused on investigating 10 bilingual writers who wrote both one English and Indonesian article. selected were those had an educational background in language teaching. interviews covered interviewees’ information, current activities, writing their snowball technique to search for more information. interview data analyzed into some steps namely, transcribing data, organizing summarizing interpreting data. All transcription then categorized coded. Research findings revealed that writers’ choice move structure could be as a result learning from other people’s patterns, believing themselves, having high self-confidence, frequency, awareness micro macrostructure have opened minds learn read researchers’ determine whether are suitable them or not. starting point experiencing RA published made believe themselves felt self-confident.
